This is something i posted in another thread and its possibly my most logical point in regards to the result of the fight...including a video made by MaTTuP to show what im talking about:
my prediction is paulie by a close split decision as i believe he'll be able to use both hands especially considering how good his hand surgeon is...considering he's worked on the likes of micky ward, etc.

I'm glad to hear the surgery was a success.
I think if this works out well and paulie can use both hands to their full potential the whole 12 rounds i say he beats hatton.
Not many pay attention to the fights in which paulie was able to use both hands completely...i mean his knockouts (which isnt many) came from good right hands (most of them)...i mean with two hands he boxes (in my opinion) as the best upper B level/lower A level fighter currently.
He's not elite but can get the job done.
This is a video made by MaTTuP... it shows what im talking about when he can fight with both hands...and uses his speed:
So if this surgery helps enough to allow him to use both hands hatton will have a hell of a time trying to get to him...paulie isnt incredibly strong with his punches but i think he has enough power to at least keep guys off...cotto doesnt have the strongest chin in the world but a good combination of a crisp punch and speed got cotto off balance...knocked ndou down...and when he was able to use both hands early in his career he did put some guys down pretty impressively (see the first two knockdowns of the video)...
too bad he hurt his hands so many times he has no power now...
i think the hatton v. paulie fight will be a close one; more than likely a split decision in either man's favor...
the only way anyone should get surprised is if hatton goes down or if paulie goes down on something other than a body shot (he's shown he has a pretty good chin and a big heart).
If paulie cant use both hands he wont win though...he HAS TO be able to use both hands so i really hope his hands are good by the time of the fight otherwise it wont be nearly as close.
