PAVLIK-LOCKETT ticket sales = Very poor

Lets all hold hands a pray to god that Arum realizes that Pavlik is not yet a star, and skips the rubio fight for more lucrative and star making fights for Pavlik.

Oh, and Arum is blaming George Bush for the poor ticket sales... not even kidding.

funny thing i was just on ticketmaster not more than 2mins ago and noticed the same thing, there are still plenty of $50 (the cheapest) seats around i woulda figured Pavlik's following from Ohio woulda scooped those up by now, hmmmm maybe i'll go, but i'd miss the other card on ShoBox that night... i dunno

It's cus he came out of left field and no one really knew who he was..
Some champs start of their career being followed, others just burst on the scene.
I think this was a poor move on Arum's side.. he should have stuck Pavlik in with a couple more recognizable fighters.

Hmm, why didn't you put "Very Poor" in all caps?

I'm not surprised....It's not because Pavlik isn't a star, it's because nobody has ever heard of Gary Lockett....The undercard isn't so good either, nobody really cares about the midgets.

its ok if the sales were bad as long as on fight night the action is way up.

unlike gayweather vs dela hoya the sales were ****ing sky high but the fight was for suckers.....

yea exactly. WHen Pacquiao came out of left field, he was thrown in with 3 of the greatest fighters of his era... back to back to back (Barrera, Morales, and Marquez)

And what do you know, Pacquiao is a national icon in his homeland, and really popular in US for such a small fighter.

If Pavlik fights and Beats Calzaghe, Abraham, and like a Roy Jones just for name power, he could be a really big star
