There has been some talk that the Ref. may have let Hatton get more time then needed, and the speed in which Hatton's corner took to tie the boots he had on ... I wondered was Hatton saved?

Hatton wasn't hurt at all in the 10th, hardly even momentarily stunned. He kept coming forward and tied Lazcano up. He was momentarily hurt in the 8th round, though.
In the 10th round, the ref stopped it 20-25 seconds after Hatton was hit by those lefts, and Ricky was perfectly okay. You can see it here, in this video of rounds 9 and 10 (the controversial part begins at 5:20 or so):

After the third round I thought, people have to stop talking about Hatton getting back in ther with Mayweather. He has to try fight his way to a re-match instead of talking this way into a re-match... I keep typing that because I think it's so true!

I dont know about getting knocked out...
but without all that time its very possible he could have been knocked down.
He continuously tied up lazcano after those left hooks...
In all honesty; had lazcano not pulled hatton down and hit him on the side (while holding him down) the ref wouldnt have taken time to talk to lazcano and ricky wouldnt have noticed the untied shoe.
either way the ref shouldnt have called for time unless he planned on taking a point away...not at such a turning point in the fight.
So i partially blame the ref (for calling time when not taking a point at such a time in the fight) and lazcano for hitting while hatton was bent down by lazcano (that started it really).
But overall i think the situation could have been handled better by the ref.
I think lazcano had a pretty decent chance at knocking him down...but not out.
