I want to piss people off.

Lewis had the balls to fight anyone and everyone, even high-risk, low-rewards like McCall.
Not once did he get beat up in any one of his fights. He had some tough fights, but none of which he got his ass handed to him.

Not once did he look outclassed.

Think about this for a minute. A guy who fought everyone who was willing to step in the ring with him, everybody from the top contenders to the legends of the sport.
He was a brilliant boxer able to slug, pressure, back up, infight, outsmart and outwill the best fighters over the course of a decade.

The only thing you can say against him is that two of the punches landed on him were two of the hardest punches any fighter has ever had to taste.
Yes, that may be a little over the top, but you get the point.

I wouldn't say Calzaghe was better because he didn't get knocked out.
He did get knocked down a few times, last against the crushingly heavy-handed 43-year old Hopkins.
It's not because of skill he didn't get knocked out by those people who knocked him down. It's simply because those weren't devastating punchers like McCall and Rahman was.

Good, old-fashioned luck is what I call that.

Lewis sought out the best fighters he could, unlike Calzaghe.

I'm sorry, but Calzaghe is nowhere near the champion Lennox was.

He might be the best guided european fighter ever.

    Does it hurt your feelings?

Nah man, Lennox Lewis straight out flattened Mike Tyson! That made huge news cause Tyson dropped thier British pride and joy...Frank Bruno, who many believed would teach Tyson a lesson. Joe Calzaghe is of course, the fan favorite right now, but Lennox Lewis was bigger.

Honestly I would take prime Benn and Eubanks over Cal , the Eubanks that Cal beat was a shadow at the end of a 50 60 fight career and he finished out with 3 losses and Cal was one of them , Nigel Benn was a beast ,, Lewis I was never a big wrap for , I think his huge size was a big advantage and he never fought prime elite fighters and he was KOed twice .

thats Lennox. if Joe had fought more then two truly great fighters (Kessler, Hopkins) he might be an inch closer to tha title...but right now with tha overall quality of his opponents hes no were near tha legacy of Lenox Lewis.
