If Cortez pulls Calzaghe up for so called "Slapping"

If he did that would you lose all faith in his firm but fair billing.

I don't think Cortez will bother Joe. It's more of a question of what he allows Hopkins to get away with. Somehow I doubt he'll be as strict with him as he was with Hatton.

The UK announce team are very worried about Cortez they says its the only thing Calzaghe does that may look remotely (even though it isnt in anyway illegal) infractious.

Joe rabbit punches and elbows also. Both guys like to bend the rules

Agreed. If that happened it would be almost as though he weren't a boxing referee at all but merely there to protect the interests of the US fighter in any way he can...

I have never seen Joe pulled up for slapping, because, well he doesn't really do it.

I'm sure Cortez won't do it though.

Agreed i think he will be more dirty that usual because he knows what he does wont be any worse than what Hopkins does so is unlikely to lose a point before Nard.

Hopfully Cortez calls it down the middle 150 world title fights and he may feel the world is watching him and his legacy after his shambolic didplay in the Mayweather/Hatton fight.

Everybody bends the rules a bit, but compared to Hopkins, Joe is a clean fighter.

The only time I've ever seen Joe use deliberate illegal methods was in retaliation for the same.
