Bernard Hopkins Media Workout and Interview

Hopkins looks pretty good but he doesn't look very sharp IMO. Calzaghe definitely has the speed advantage but maybe Hopkins isn't showing his best form on purpose.

its the subtle things that he does that make up for any speed issues that he may have, and its not like the man is Librado slow. His footwork is impeccable, the way he maneuvers his hands after he punches you know he is playing the fight in his head, he is smarter than just about every fighter out there period. If you notice he is closing the gap quickly my guess in order to smother Joe from volume punching. He is also looking to counter Joe's jab which can be lazy at times.

the man knows what he is doing and knows how to beat Joe.

I know what you saying and i know what he needs to do i personally dont think he will do those things. The biggest fear for any Hopkins fan is he is going to be pushed every minute of every round. Hopkins is noted for taking spells even rounds off the workrate will be to much.

Hopkins wont be doing to much after 7rds at Calzaghes pace thats why he knows he needs to win the early rounds.

I know what he was trying to do, he just didn't look very sharp to me.

I saw that too, the way he was punching the pads then quickly stepping in to nulify the workrate from Joe. As it gets closer i am giving Bernard more of a chance of winning. When i first heard the fight i said Joe UD, now though i am thinking it'll be closer.

I look forward to it as i am a fan of both men, they are both IMO, two of the best champions of their generations.

What's he talking about "1000 punches per round"? Nobody throws that much, it's ****ing impossible. Does he not realize it's 1000 punches over the whole course of a fight? There's a slight difference between 1000 punches per round and an average of 83.

I'd be worried if I was a Hopkins fan, he didn't look good at all here.

B-Hop looks like a black version of Hollywood Hogan from nWo lol...but anyways, I agree with silencer that Hopkins may look mediocre for the media just to play off the underdog real well..

Like most american boxers, Hopkins is incredible articulate. Tarver and Mallanaggi are the same.
