And you cant argue with that.
Gayweather was getting punish and suffered the first knockdown of his career in the 6th round to some bum named Carlos Hernandez and he went 12 rnds with floyd

Torres? the WBO light welterweight champ? with Torres, Cotto was down in round two and that's the only time he have ever been knocked down in his career. while Torres was down in rounds one, four, six, and seven before lossing by KO ind just 7 rnds against Cotto and thats Torres only lost ever!!!!!!

You want to talk about Corley OK... Corley staggered both Cotto (in the 3rnd) and Gayweather (in the 4th) and Corley lasted 12 rounds with Floyd Mayweather Jr while getting beat by TKO in just 5 round by Cotto. Corley had never lost by stoppage before!!!!

    Argue with that!!!!!!!

You can't use compatible opponents to make points in boxing. I know it's the easy thing to do but STYLES MAKE FIGHTS ever heard of that?

Cotto is a much better fighter now than when he was 2-3 years ago, no doubt but so is Floyd. I think that if Margarito was to fight Cotto 2-3 years ago, Marg wins easily but not anymore. So bringing up fighter's that knocked down mayweather years ago makes no argument what so ever.

Like it or not, Mayweather is the best pound4pound fighter in the world right now. His speed is incredible and so is his defense. It would take a monumentl effort of skill and determination to beat Floyd right now, I don't care who he's fighting.

I respect both Cotto and Mayweather but some of you are getting way out of hand with all this bull****.

Floyd opt'ed for a madatory 8-count because his hand was broke. He beat the guy with a broke hand. He actually injured his both his hands early during the fight. It's funny how you forgot to tell that bit of information.

If Im not mistaken, not only did Cotto TKO Corley who was a fighter that hadnt been stopped, but had also never been knocked down!!

Point is that Cotto is the BEST fighter that Mayweather has available to fight, so if he is not going to fight Cotto than he should just retire instead of making the illusion that he is willing to fight the best by re-matching has-been fighters that havent won a fight in 4 years.

                Wow, talk about ignorant.

First of all, did you just call Carlos Hernandez a "bum"? That's laughable.

And did you just say Mayweather was getting punished for the first 6 rounds of the Carlos Hernandez fight? LOL. Did you even watch that fight? Floyd was strafing Hernandez with so many hard clean punches during the first 6 rounds that he broke his hand. And you're right, he did suffer the first KD of his career, by landing a clean, hard broken right hand to Henandez's face. And took a knee because he was in so much pain.

that was one of the WORST stoppages EVER! Had that been in the US, I think the fight should have continued. Seriously. Go look it up, it was VERY PREMATURE. But it is in the past, just thought I would comment on that...YA DIIIGGG?

Definitely a bad stoppage, but Cotto was well on his way to winning the fight, no question about it.

Why wouldn't it be as close? Why was the first Mayweather-Castillo fight close, but this one can't be?
