I agree with Horus about the reason why Cotto does not personally call out Mayweather, but I can offer a simpler one.

Right now Cotto's star is on the rise, with all the promise of PPV buys and purses that provides.

If he loses to Floyd, which I think he will, his star will be in decline. Look at how all of Mayweather's recent opponents are now perceived. Hatton, Baldomir, Gatti, Judah etc etc.

Cotto wants a succesful career is all.

They will fight, we just have to wait.

1. Show's his passion.
2. Since when did he do that? Or drink out of the ordinary?
