I dont believe cotto is scared of mayweather the person, i believe arum and cotto both are AWARE that should cotto fight a prime mayweather there is a high likelyhood he will lose.

Looking at it logically, cotto has one legit chance in that fight, the jab (excluding a homerun punch), if he can land that and set up left hooks off it, he can win.

If he cant land the jab and mayweather dials in the right hand and counter left, he wont go the full 12 imo.

u cant beat floyd with one punch... if u land your jab a few times.. he ll change his style to kill the jab... which is what he did against oscar... oscar didnt quit using the jab on his own... floyd made it irrelevant.

Not convinced, i think the jab is the only way he can be beaten right now, it definatley upsets his rythym and he allows himself to get backed up with it on the ropes. I still think thats the way to beat him, not pressure, but a good jab. Someone rangy like forrest would give mayweather a real run for his money.

I agree that the Jab is the key to beat Mayweater, but also you have to put presure. Cotto just need to use a blueprint of Castillo's fight against Mayweather and he will be vitorious.Cotto pressing the action with his accurate sledgehammer type jab will be too much for Mayweather, won't be easy, because I think Mayweather will run like DLh did against Tito, but in the end I see Cotto winning By KO in the 10th.(Left Hook to the body will do the damage again)

You can't compare DLH to Cotto. Cotto is about to reach his peak a DLH is about to retire.Cotto is far more efficient with his punches than DLH.Mosley is faster than Cotto and Cotto made him look slower, I'm not saying that Mosley's speed is the same as Floyd but he is very fast and Cotto made him look slow, with his accurate jab.Boxing is about time, and I think Cottos timing is perfect. By the time Floyd get use to Cottos jab he will be gettin hit in the body. I will see floyd complaning to the referee all night about cottos Body Punching.And another thing Floy had have problems with southpaws in he's carrer. And guess who can switch to southpaw with ease?

Thats how he will end up against Cotto with a ****** Shoulder and broken ribs. dont make excuses he got beat that night!. Cotto had a car accident broke his shoulder in three pices, got surgery and 6 months later when on to knock his opponet teeth out like in 6 rounds.

When Cotto gets asked about Mayweather, he has never said he would not fight him.

While Mayweather (as the clip played by HBO at the end of the cotto fight) brushes off the idea of fighting Cotto.

It is not Cotto's personality to call out people. He didn't call out Mosley, Judah or any of his opponents. He will fight whomever is put in front of him.

Here's one for you floyd fans? Why not criticize Mayweather for not wanting to fight the top contender in his weight class? Because right now Mayweather in making money labled as the p4p best, If he loses to Cotto, wich many think he will, his star will decline.

That is fair enough. I do think Floyd should fight Cotto, I have never said anything else. I just think that no other boxer gets hammered as much for not fighting the guy the fans want to see him fight. Lots of fights don't get made until way after they should and it doesn't provoke the same level of complaint.

It also depends on if you think Mayweather would lose to Cotto. If you don't then it seems hard to believe he is actually ducking him.

BTW I do think Mayweather is the best boxer currently active, but I wouldn't describe myself as a fan. He does all kinds of ****** things that annoy me, but I don't let that interfere with my analysis of his boxing skills.

I wasn't comparing Oscar to Cotto. I pointed out that oscar had some success with his jab becuase of it's quickness and range. But even with that success he wasn't able to capitalize on it. I compared Cotto's jab to Floyd by saying his reach isn't as long and his jab not as quick.

But you are right that timing can neutralize speed. If Mosley had focused and relaxed he would have realized that Cotto was timing him and beating him to the punch at times and then Mosley could have used his speed more efficient and thru Cotto's timing off.
