Hatton vs Mayweather 2 highlights what's wrong with boxing today.

This fight will more than likely go ahead in Spring 09 at Wembley London.

    It is a disgrace that:

A.both these fighters will not face their number 1 challenger in their respective divisions (Cotto and Witter).

B.the fact that these fighters are allowed to engage in a money spinning event that by and large has no importance in the boxing world.

It's hard to make arguments for boxing when things like this happen.

Its hard to make an argument for the sport of boxing when refereeing performances like cortez's happen.

Mayweather-Hatton 2 is no different then Mayweather-Hatton 1. It was such a mismatch.

Mayweather choosing a massive payday against DLH again is one thing, but picking a Hatton rematch that would pay him the same amount as a Cotto fight is D-I-S-G-R-A-C-E-F-U-L

Mayweather is a ***** though, so i expect nothing more from him. ANybody who says he is not ducking Cotto is dilusional. I RARELY say one fighter is ducking another, but it is PAINFULLY obvious Mayweather doesnt ever want a tough fight

Quit crying, Mayweather will fight Cotto, Cotto just has to make himself a bigger name first. Mayweather owes Hatton a fair fight.

        Hatton has international appeal.

The drop in popularity of boxing among the average person has led to boxing becoming more of a business than a sport (though it was almost always both to some degree).

            wrong.

the drop in popularity was through rubbish match ups.

so now boxing is saving itself (in terms of money and interest) by concentrating on 'celebrity' match ups which don't benefit the sport.

Mayweather owes Hatton nothing, and Hatton in no way deserves a rematch, the fight was a mismatch. And im a huuuuge Hatton fan.

              Mayweather is ducking Cotto, FACT

well, it's called prize-fighting for a reason and hatton presents a huge prize for mayweather... maybe cotto needs to up his upside instead of cashing in on floyd's.

It's a free, Hatton and Mayweather can do anything they ****ing want. If you don't like, don't watch it, don't pay money for it, don't even talk about it. Somehow though, I think Floyd and Ricky are going to be all right.

Celebrity match ups like Mayweather DLH and Mayweather Hatton are good for the business of boxing BUT they should be intermittent spaced out between the mandatory challenges the respective fighters are obliged to take.

Money shouldn't decide all the fixtures.
