Hearing some of the stories it sounds as if many are believing diaz got exposed and isnt what most i****ined him being and i disagree.

With all the talk going on I believe this calls for a rematch because lets face it; the likelihood of campbell going to to unify the titles and then becoming the champion of the lightweight division is VERY unlikely.

I think he fought a very good fight last saturday but i dont think he won strictly on his own...

That cut on diaz' eye (that originated from a headbutt but opened even bigger by a punch later on) was (i believe) what basically pushed campbell along and gave him the win.

Down the stretch i dont think campbell would have won all those rounds in a row had diaz' not been affected by and favoring that left eye.

you all seen it; he kept that left hand up around the eye for many of the middle to late rounds almost afraid to move his hand for fear of the cut opening even more. he was definately bothered by it and he slowed WAY down once the cut happened.

Look at the fight BEFORE the cut versus WHEN AND AFTER the cut had been opened... tell me it had nothing to do with the cut and purely campbell's great ability in the ring?

All campbell did (in my opinion) is what a veteran fighter SHOULD do and that is exploit that cut and take advantage of it...

I'm not saying campbell isnt a good fighter or that he didnt give his best but i dont think diaz was that bad or is that bad...or is a prospect whp met his match and was exposed for being a B level fighter...

i dont believe that one bit.

I think a rematch should take place to determine if the cut REALLY made the difference in the fight or if campbell REALLY is that much better than Diaz...

i think its fair...if campbell is that much better than diaz he'll win again...if diaz really lost on the cut then he'll win...

i think it helps clear the drama for both sides and everyone wins (including the fans...)

    agree?
Agreed. Well said. I couldn't have said it better myself.

Who's posting ignorant ****??? You just said it yourself buddy. Juan has beat some good fighters and that he is still a young boxer. Meaning he is not the best and that he still has a long way to go. Pacquaio himself has expressed interest in a juan diaz match but his handlers didnt want part of the legal issues juan was having with his don king and his promoters. Also having already fought 4 fighters on the top 25 p4p in barrera, morales, marquez and larios...the kind of credentials juan diaz lacks from the business perspective...making the fight happen would be like juan diaz wishing on a star. And losing to a veteran fighter that is MUCH older and MUCH less talented than any of the future hall of famers Pacquiao BEAT does nothing to help diaz' case. Cut from a headbutt or not..champions fight through the obstacles and win big fights. Diaz lost to a seasoned vet he was never supposed to lose to. Plain and simple. Pacquiao's handlers simply elected to go with david diaz...the more rounded out and experienced boxer.

I agree, but i bet if there was to be a rematch cambell would be willing to have some points deducted in order to get some head butts in on the spot of the old cut.

I didnt know paqiao was undefeated, i thought he had 2 loses and a draw against guys lesser then probably even cambell. Everyone ends up losing, mayweather (not against DLH I dont think but who knows) and joe calzaghe are next. Does it mean mayweather aint going to be a real champion or the p4p best anymore after he loses one time? Thats why boxing has trouble atracting new fans, they cant establish any real super stars. Not because of the lack of talent, but because if a boxer has a bad night everyone including the professional boxing writers and analyst turn their back on them only to jump back on their nutts when they win again, it's pathetic. If Tom Brady or Lebron James or any other athlete from any other sport for that matter has a bad game there still superstars.
