The difference is Peter is too strong just to keep off with the left hand. Wlad would have no choice put to throw power punches, and he DID in their first fight.

If I was the guy Wlad is fighting next, I would think of this as an opportunity.

We know what happened the last time Wladimir tried to impress the Americans with his aggression (that was against Brewster the first time).

If I was Thompson I would counter punch and fight very defensively, he has the size to do it but perhaps not enough speed/power. Try to catch Wladimir coming in, see if he makes any mistakes by being too aggressive.

Povetkin should try to weather the early storm (by any means necessary) and come on late like he usually does. Go to Wladimir's body with hooks like against Eddie Chambers.

Like Hatton use to say this is a ticking contest, If Wlad could hold, hug, cling and hang himself on peter all night then he deserve whatever he gets back from peter on fight night, I have nothing against Wlad but he fought a ****ty fight against Peter, From round one he was scared to get hit by peter even though Peter was pretty ordinary...When he choose to box nobody does it better at HW than Wlad but he choose to fight just to spoil Peter's tactics...In only opened up abit in round 12 and he gets to stun peter in that round.

It's in the record books, there is nothing you can do about it. Wlad was knocked down 3 times.

Regardless of how disappointed I am with his last fight, and I AM, Wladimir just beat and COMPLETELY DOMINATED his last three opponents with ONE HAND. Thats all I gotta say.

No, gavinz1975 thinks it's legal to hold and hug for 10 minutes. Many fighters have been disqualified for the same thing.

Well if Wlad should've been penalized for holding then John Ruiz should be banned. Wladimir clinches when he's in close to stop his opponents momentum and to keep the fight on the outside. Ruiz jabs then GRABS and holds on as long as he can. Hatton and Castillo both HOLD and hit. Thats way more ILLEGAL.

Watch this video from the Peter fight, this was posted yesterday. It's 10 minutes of holding and hugging.

You still don't know the difference between clinching and holding, do you? Clinching is legal, holding is not.
