that statement lacks basic logic. and I do mean basic. but it explains alot about you and your point of view.

Very interesting scene there. Mostly black, some whites. The black people seemed to think Taylor won while the white thought Pavlik. Some of the blacks left disgusted immediately after the announcement, ripping off their wristbands as they left.

To me, Taylor did land the best couple punches in the fight, but Pavlik outworked clearly and controlled the ring. I thought Pavlik did enough to win by a couple points (and I am white, do take that for what it's worth) but I couldn't score it or anything. Overall, I'm impressed with both fighters. Taylor made some nice adjustments but played it a little too defensive. Pavlik showed that he wasn't just a puncher but could box the full twelve.

Can any body tell me the gist of the Pavlik interview after the fight, and Taylor's if he was interviewed.

Also, any thoughts on race and boxing? Is it racism to root for one's own race or is it just a natural inclination?
wow. i thought it was illegal to watch a PPV boxing match at a bar. where did u watch it?

Well, many people think I'm racist, so it's true.

Just curious, where do you watch from? I watched at a bar in AZ... Bars pay a premium to make it legal here.

Alot of people have seen me bash Taylor on this site.. hell, check my sig and you'll see that I even bet against the guy. But tonight I must say that I just didn't feel that kelly won- and I like him much better as a fighter.

Do you want a cookie for assuming everyone who thought Pavlik won must have done so based on race? So did every black person give the fight to Taylor? Or is it just white people who score completely based on race? Or does that not matter in this discussion?

For the sore Taylor fans . . .Education is the key

I like them equally but here is the truth . . .

Fast punches do not equal accurate punches
                  Taylor ate jabs all night
Taylor could have had him but his work rate ******
It was a close fight and much less a bad decision than Taylor/Wright, Taylor Spinks, Bhop/Taylo I & II.

                  The Ten Point Must System

Each judge scores each round using the following criteria:

                  Clean Punching (25%) Slightly Taylor
                  Effective Aggression (25%) Clearly Pavlik
                  Ring Generalship (25%) Slighty Pavlik
                  Defense (25%) Even

Clean punches are above the waist, on the front or sides of the body or head, and with the knuckle of the glove. The judge must determine if one boxer is landing more clean punches than the other.
Effective Aggression means landing punches while moving forward. If a fighter is aggressive but not landing punches, that does not count as effective aggression.

Ring Generalship means who is controlling the action in the ring, using strategy and skills beyond straight punching power. Is one fighter using agility and feinting to throw his opponent off guard? Or setting up his opponent for effective combinations? When one fighter moves the other around the ring at will, that fighter is displaying ring generalship.

Defense refers to a fighter's success at avoiding blows. This can be accomplished by blocking, bobbing, weaving, good footwork, and/or good movement.

Each of these criteria is supposed to be given equal weight (25%), although there's some dispute as to whether that actually happens.

I am artificial intelligence. Unfortunately I see no value in perpetuating racism.
