      Hi there bud!

Herrera had a bizzare win in his last fight. His foe, after having been hit a couple of times (and dropped each time), rose to his feet, turned to his corner, and gestured frantically to ask that the towel be thrown into the ring. The guy just simply gave up, for reasons that were not quite clear, and has not become clear. He did not appear all that hurt; he did not look dazed.

It's officially declared as a KO1 victory for Herrera. Very short work. Less than two minutes.

Though often referred to as El Raton, Herrera is also known as, "El Campeon del Pueblo." Strange moniker, ain't it? Why "Pueblo"? What pueblo?

He's a wide-bodied fighter (as opposed to Banal's slim torso) and a southpaw; he drops his right when he unleashes his left, leaving him open for a counter. BUt he has a decent right hook.

LOL! I dunno pal... It just seems odd to me that he and his camp think that being champ of a town is something to trumpet on the world stage....

Could be that it's an idiomatic expression that means something much more than the literal translation. Or, some kind of history backs it up and pushes it to something worth boasting about. I hope so. Otherwise, it cannot go anywhere more than be just a strange claim to fame.

Anyway, from what I heard and the little I've seen, this Herrera is one tough hombre. First real test for Banal.

Note: "...barriotic"? I'm guessing that comes from the world, "barrio"...I think I know what you mean.

An idomatic expression indeed for something or somebody which is or who is the BEST. I live in zamboanga city and we speak bastardized spanish. Here you'll here somebody claiming " el radio del pueblo", "La botica del pueblo", "La tienda del pueblo" and several others del pueblo which stands for the best.

From his record, even if I have not seen him fight, this Herrera is really one tough hombre. Maybe comparable to Jorge Solis prior to his fight with pac. Will AJ be a ble to show the world that he is capable of beating boxers of this caliber? and how? that remains to be seen and I wish AJ all the best.

Just as I suspect, it's an idiom. Thanks, pal. Even on my best days, my Spanish ranges from scant to zilch; mostly zilch. Your "bastardized spanish" is a lot better. Mine does not only have congenital defects, it is still-born!

Anyway, I think that if Banal is to have his way, he'll limit Herrera to el pueblo, while he, himself, goes on to rule El Mundo. On the other hand, Herrera surely won't mind expanding his realm, will he?

I too am waiting to see what happens.
