    Should Povetkin face Klitschko?

I’ve recently read several boxing articles that reported on the Chambers-Povetkin fight and have said that Alex isn’t anywhere close to being ready for a fighter of Klitschko’s caliber. And I agree; what’s the rush with this kid? Klitschko destroys his opponents and Povetkin would be no different. There’s the money issue; I’m sure he’ll get a nice payday, but is it worth taking a vicious beating for?

I’m kinda thinking that this situation might end up a little like the Lacy-Calzaghe fight. And where’s Jeff Lacy now? Since his devastating loss to Calzaghe, he’s fought only twice and has looked awful in both fights. So, I’m asking why rush Povetkin into this fight when he has so much to lose?...

    Thoughts/opinions please…

He's not ready yet, he needs a few more fights first.

          He has earned his shot.
Win lose or draw it is only good for his learning curve.
At least the guy hasn't ***** footed his way into contention against 20-30 bums.
He has beaten top contenders as well.
Why should he take a step back?
Wlad is hardly a Super technical Boxer either and without his physical advantages would never be where he is today.
He has also lost to far inferior Technical fighters than Povetkin.

No he shouldn't. He will get KO'd IMO.

If Povetkin fights Klitschko at this stage, he'll get knocked out. Plain and simple. No ifs ands or buts.

So what? He's earned a world title shot, what kind of a coward wouldn' take it because the "odds aren't good". Povetkin has been fighting a long time, he was an olympic gold medallist and beat the once Number 1 HW in the world Chris Byrd. I say let him go at it, i dont expect him to win but his odds are helluva lot better trying than not trying at all.

He can go ahead and take the title shot in a few months, I can't blame him for that. But he gets KO'd early in this fight IMO.
