people who live in the high altitudes of Eastern Africa have an advantage when it comes to stamina in all sports. I don't think there has ever been a great boxer from there though?.......

Is he serious?, listen im black, i did athletics at school every now and again, did okay, here's some real talk.

The high proportion of black people in sport actually is as much a social and class issue as it is a race issue, black people are more likely to be working class and so tend to place a high value on sport as way of making money and gaining the social mobilty a lesser education and poor income can deny.

      Ask your teacher about that.

No race is not a factor in boxing ability or anything else.

It has nothing to do with race, it's all about their environment. If a white man is born and raised there in the same condition as them, he would have the same stamina.

yep! except their bodies have evolved to cope with their environment. This argument is void because there are no boxers from there. They just kick arse in long distance running.

I don't doubt that you can become accustomed to high altidudes. There has been alot of tests about eastern africans athletes muscles using half the amount oxygen a european athletes would and what not, I forget the name of the studies I looked at it in my first year of university 3 years ago. Though the athletes in these tests were Swedish, probably crap athletes, lol. I didn't think they excelled at long distance running.

What about religion? Does that have an effect? Because usually when some fighters win they thank god for help?

lol...that always bugs me. But if your a true christian or religious man of any kind you shouldn't be praying for you own ends. I'd like to think it they are among the lines of 'keep me and my opponant safe'..thanks for keeping me safe.

Religion is a can of worms, I'll stop typing, lol

I dont necesarilly think its a race factor, well not completely. From what I have seen and experienced, for the most part Afro americans are generally more quicker, flashier. I think the hispanic fighters are generally more rugged or should I say they are more apt to leaving it all in the ring or put it all on the line sort of speaking. I guess it goes back to the early 80's or even 70's when Mexico had many champions and the pressure from Mexican fight fans was very harsh. They wanted to get their money's worth and nothing short of that. But there are some Hispanic boxers who can and have boxed just as good, and white dudes also. Ricardo Lopez was one of them, also Salvador Sanchez just to name a few. That white dude who fought Sugar Ray Leonard yaers back, but lost by k.o. was a great boxer. Oscar D.LH is a good boxer as well. It really dont have nothing to do with race but how a fighter prefers to fight. Just my opinion.

I concur! Some folks that grew up with nothing, had it the hard way, have whats called heart and soul. Many other folks are gifted with ability, and with an out-of-this-world metabolism!

There is a chemical in the brain the gets released when a person is confronted with a situation, I think it's called endorphin (spelling?), that lets the nervous central system react two ways.....fight or flee. and when you divert the over flow....ah man, look out! There's been other metaphores for it too..."EYE OF THE TIGER"...."ON FIRE".... "RELEASE-THE-BEAST".....and a whole bunch of others. But it's all in the preperation and train.
