Clottey won the IBF eliminator ... what about WBA?

    *speaking of eliminators and ****

according to Dan Rafael it lists Luis Collazo as facing
"Venezuela's Nelson Linares (15-0) in an elimination bout on the Felix Trinidad-Roy Jones undercard."

so is the Collazo bout going to be a WBA eliminator?

anyway .. back to Clottey-Cintron. I think its a very winnable fight for Joshua and definitely worth the wait (for Kermit to recover from his injury)

both guys have hand issues .. it really could come down to that

Elio Ortiz was ranked top 10 (Cintron fought him before the teddy reid fight)
Teddy Reid was ranked top 10 (and teddy reid has tons of power and is a rough, pressure fighter)
Estrada was top 10 (estrad is a pressure fighter who gave mosley all he could handle)

Plus, on top of that, your boy, PWil said in a recent interview that Matthysse was the toughest fight of his life. Wonder if cintron feels the same?

LOL! It's easy to look at past fights. Cintron got knocked out by Margarito. Williams dominated most of the fight with Margarito and won a decision.

I am in complete agreement that styles make fights, and that's why i think clottey would be a tougher fight than Pwil for cintron... that being said, my point was that Matthysse is a pressure fighter and cintron manhandled him quickly. and margarito did not make cintron cry. cintron cries after every fight.

ok, so elio ortiz was knocked out of the top 10 with his loss before the cintron fight. so he was not top 10 when he fought cintron. my bad.

i see what you are saying but Matthysee didn't get a chance to land on Cintron. i would be shocked if Matthysse landed one shot so i don't think he was tested in that fight.

I was going to say the same thing.. I agree. By the 7th round it was like cintron was thinking.."Im not going to knock him out... Im going to lose. Maybe i should just give up." He does get discouraged quick when things arent going his way. I think he's overrated... Clottey beats him UD.

i think cintron was frustrated, but not discouraged, with the feliciano fight. cintron was listening and doing, word for word, everything manny would tell him to do. manny told him, once cintron told him his hand was busted, to let feliciano inside, give away rounds, so feliciano would tire himself out. I dont think cintron or manny had any idea it would take for-****in-ever for feliciano tire out (much to felicianos credit. he knew he didnt deserve the shot he was getting and he came in there to win.)

I think cintron knew all along the KO woudl come, it was just a matter of time. Feliciano was like a gnat that just wouldnt go away when you are trying to play right field. You know you will eventually hit it and the thing will die, but **** if it isnt annoying while it's still alive. Roger mayweather and ellerbe told steward to expect this, because they use feliciano to frustrate floyd in sparring.

And who did Joshua Clottey beated so far???

Further more, who has Clottey fighted with the power punch that kermit Cintron brings to the table. His right power punch has been compared to Tito trinidad and Tommy Hearns by REAL BOXING EXPERTS. Clottey could not KO Alvarez Yesterday.
