Where were you when Jay Nady didn't let Ruiz "fight his fight" by hugging Roy Jones all night long in 2003? Hatton's style is just as illegal as Ruiz's so where were you guys when that went down? I didn't hear anybody crying over Ruiz being told what to do by a ref. If Ruiz was forced to fight within the rules and nobody complained, then stop crying that Cortez made Hatton fight within the rules.

It was mentioned by a number of people including some major writers that the result might of been different if Ruiz was allowed to fight his fight,
ie. Nady not breaking them up within seconds of them coming together.
Thought the Hatton bout was worse, as Hatton was very obviously looking to work on the inside,
& Cortez seemed to be looking for any excuse to jump on Hatton from the opening bell.
Seemed to be very obviously primed beforehand, & thought it was an extremely biased performance.
As for any bias in myself - not a fan of either fighter beforehand, am not one now.
Only reason I watched it was because of the hype.
