In such a situation, it shall not be difficult to concede. It's a no-brainer. Pride will have little to do with it.

As for Arum, LOL! The fella came from Yale. Just like Dubya. They do whatever is neccessary to get their way....
Right you there buddy. Juan Manuel will get the biggest payday of his fighting career but at the same time saying he is doing it for pride and not for money? What kind of contradiction is that? He was practically begging pacman on his knees to fight him. And for what? for pride? that's a lot of dung!!! haha!!!

He's in a unique situation right now to claim that he is fighting for the pride of mexico which in effect is an insult to great fighters like eric and marco. Who does juan manuel thinks he is? the savior of mexico? The plain truth is that he is fighting pac for the dineros!!!! I cannot help myself to talk against juan manuel even if I consider him one of the greatest fighters of this era together with his brother rafa.

You see, I am a boxing fan in general. Boxing fans don't need to be fans of only one fighter and make every single post praising that one fighter and insulting all the others.

I'm talking about you. All of your posts are on nothing but Filipinos and Filipino fighters, there are tons of people like you and they bother boxing forums alllllll around the world

It's not the first time that a fighter has disclaimed interest in money, buddy. They say things but keep their eyes on the bottom lines...just like the rest of us.

Maquez, while saying he does not care about how much he'll get, must have reckoned that he'll surely get an amount which is multiples of his highest previous pay. I too can say "I don't care about money," if I'm sure that my saying so helps me get a pay that is in excess of a million dollars.

It's a lie, but not an outright one. He may really care about Mexican pride. In which case, he has a dual agenda in facing Pacquiao again. But, I think the money side is just as compelling or even more so.

Anyhow, there have been a lot worse dissemblings in the fight game and in other businesses; and, I emphasize that I find nothing wrong with all that. It's part of doing business. It's something akin to a bluff. If anything, Marquez, to me, has shown better business acumen in the last few months than he did after the first Pacquiao meeting. His going to Indonesia to get 50,000 dollars had left many with quizzical looks on their faces-- at the barest minimum.

It may be wrong, however, for a journalist to take such statements hook-line-and-sinker, without talking a deeper look. To do so would make the journalist an active participant of the promotion.

As for Juan Manuel, the fighter, yes, I more than agree with you, pal. I see him as a Hall of Fame material, whether he manages to beat Pacquiao or not.

(Note: in another sense, and in restrospect, Marquez's refusal to fight Pacquiao for 3 quarters of a million then, may have been his most astute business move: he's getting a lot more now! What a difference a few years make...!)

It's 35 k but 50 k is close and yes refusing that 750 k may have been a blessing in disguise and that statement is coming from a pacfan who's so sure that pacman could have easily knocked TF him out haha!!! Seriuosly buddy, this fight may extend to another one and another one depending on how they will fight this coming march 15. Another draw may lead into another fight or may turn off boxing fans forever depending on how the draw happen. A marquez lose can result into a demand for another fight for the simple reason the first fight was a draw and the same is true for a pac lose , but then again it will depend on how the lose happen.

Regarding the journalist taking the statement line, hook and sinker, what can you expect from a boot licker like ronnie? It has been his way of life since I started to learn how to read haha.

                Was it 35K? Oh boy!

A trilogy is not a far off possibility, pal. I fully agree.

Re: Mr. Nathanielz: I'm afraid I don't know much about him other than what I have read of his pieces here and on one other boxing site. Some friends told me though that he's quite a character.

You don't say... His way of life since you started to learn reading? LOL!!! His tongue must already be thick... of calluses! LOL!!!
