Would anyone give Pavlik a chance against Calzaghe?

it'd be a more exciting fight than hopkins, but I believe Calzaghe just outpoints Pavlik to a UD. With that said, I rather see Joe fight B-Hop...just to see which fighter gets the upper hand cuz its so hard to tell between those 2

I would lean towards Kessler but he kind of got exposed with Calzaghe. he showed that he could be backed up and Pavlik is a come foward type of fighter. he wouldn't want to get backed up by Pavlik. he would get stopped. but i think that Kessler would out point him and use the ring. he has a good defense too.

Calzaghe nearly stopped him, but that was because he placed his punch perfectly, Pavlik couldnt do that. Kessler would beat Pavlik in the much the same way he lost to Calzaghe. Everyone would say Pavlik has a punchers chance and could stop him, but in reality there would be only one winner. With Kesslers power, Pavliks fragile chin will get destroyed, I mean the guy got dropped by Taylor, who carries barely 3 quarters the power Kessler would be landing with all night. Kessler by wide UD or big KO.

As for Calzaghe against Pavlik, nobody can beat Calzaghe, its as simple as that. All the haters keep saying hes gunna get exposed but I think even they are coming round to the fact that Joe is the real deal and will retire a multi weight, undefeated world champion. Pavlik wouldnt even have a punchers chance, Calzaghe took the best shots of Lacy (only one or two but he still took them) and Kessler, who landed some big shots flush. I think we can safely assume Pavlik doesnt punch harder than Lacy or Kessler, and he only moves in straight lines, usually forward. Calzaghe would box this guy to death for 12 rounds like hes done with every other big punching superstar hes fought. I would even pick Calzaghe to stop Pavlik, he goes down to easy and once youre hurt theres no second chance vs Calzaghe.

Nah. Kessler is so fast and fluid, and has a good defense. Pavlik can't defend and throw punches with any fluidity back and forth. Pavlik couldn't get those rounds, and even if he lands a few punches he can't knock Joe out.

How would you see Kessler vs. Pavlik? I'd pikc Kessler to win a pretty wide decision.

Seems like you guys are under-estimating Pavlik. I think Pav is alot quicker then you think, he knocked out Taylor who has decent speed, KO'd Mirando who has power. A fight with Kessler to me could go either way. I think it would go to decision...but I can see Pavs shots starting to take a small toll on Kessler towards the end.

Pavlik hits alot harder than Calzaghe does so i know he will hurt Kessler if he lands too many of those right hands. and i don't know why you are acting like Calzaghe is unbeatable. When you have been in the ring with the biggest punchers you could possibly face, and they dont even scratch you, then I think its a safe bet that you wont be knocked out by some hyped up bum on steriods. Calzaghe wouldnt even take this fight, the guy is barely heard of outside of America. As for the fight itself, lets get a second opinion on this one, post a poll if youre not scared to get whipped.

Nope. I think Joe would be way too quick for him. Very simular to the Lacy fight in my eyes.
