Vargas when to the point of no return with his weight. He was never going to get back to that sort of shape he was in when fought DLH.

i feel bad for vargas he was thanking god after the fight he had talent and power what the **** went wrong
Too many things to name, but the source of it all has always been that spinal disc in his kneck that never healed. His kneck has been jelly since and his body has been shot and just gone downhill since he came off his supsension. Part of you wants to feel bad for him, the other part of you wants to ask him what the **** he was thinkin blowing up between fights and not takin care of his body, but it's his time to go and I think he knows it

Yea, 100LBS is an insane amount to drop and to drop healthy. However, judging from that pic, he doesn't look as bad as some of these posts suggest. Regardless of how he "looks", he was noticebly sluggish/tired.

DAMN! 400+ posts already? I think this fight generated a bigger BUZZ than expected..

I liked the fight, I thought Mayorga should have gotten a bigger lead on the cards with the 2 knockdowns and Vargas could have been penalized too, I just think Ricardo got the fight, I think Vargas grabbed his **** and made his presence felt but but Ricardo took him out, I think Mayorga could have KO'ed him but I don't think he was looking for that, I think with all the antics to the crowd that Mayorga sort of fell back and allowed for the fight to continue, he could have taken Vargas out but I think he wanted to sell the fight a bit, I say this (and I know it sounds ****ing ****** but hear me out) because towards the end of the 3rd round I noticed Ricardo not throwing as much as I SAW he could..

if I saw it then I'm SURE he saw it too but he didn't act upon it, he was just taking a bunch of punishment but not really hitting back towards the last minute, thats NOT to say he threw the fight cuz he won it but I think he eased up in times when he could have pressed and put out Vargas, Fernando is a warrior though and I feel like he shouldn't retire, **** it fight a bum now that he's in shape and go out on a W but thats Boxing I guess, all respect to El Ferroz for a good career and many memorable nights.. 100

Watching it on PPV, Vargas was disgracefully fat. The best analogy I can draw is to the George Foreman that fought Evander Holyfield. Vargas had that kind of belly.

That's ridiculous. Look at the picture I posted above and he weighed in at 164LBS.

Say what you want, I as well as everyone else that PAID for the fight know what Vargas looked like, and he was FAT with a capital F A and T.
