    greatest trainer of all time

who do u think is the greatest trainer of all time?

That's hard to say of all-time because Im sure all trainers have had success and failure, but as of now my favorite trainer is Nacho Beristain. His fighters are agressive, but with good technique and boxing skills.

It really is based on who walked through there door , most trainers go along on even keel untill the day a future champion walks through the door and then all off a sudden the trainer becomes popular and more quaity fighters start going to them next thing you have a trainer with a big stable and a reputation , I respect the guys that break the norm the ones that are innovative , the ones that do things different and succeed , of the modern era my vote is Floyd snr , like him or hate him as a person matters little , he has proven to be a great trainer of fighters , of the old school Eddie Futch and Dundee .

Well Emanuel Steward took a club fighter in Oliver McCall and taught him to beat Lennox Lewis, then made Lewis better in his 30s than he was in his 20s. I'd say Eddie Futch though, guy trained something like 32 world champs.

But McCall won that fight because he had a lucky punch, more than improving his skills

I hear that a lot and for the life of me I can't figure out what would make anyone say that. He has "proven" to be a "great" trainer???? GREAT is by far the most overused word in professional sports.... but either way, IMO to say Floyd Sr. based on what he has done as a trainer so far, to say he is "great" is very very very VERY premature. If he can be considered great...then there are WAY TOO MANY great ones around then.

Eddie Futch and it ain't even up for debate! My current favorite is Freddie Roach, second would be Nacho, honorable mention would be trainers like Juan Diaz's trainer and Buddy McGirt.

Buddy Mc Girt did some real good things with Gatti at the end of his career.

Your question is actually one of the most important measures i look at , as far as grading a trainer. The trainers who can bring out the best out of their fighters is probably the most important quality a trainer can have.
