Sonny Liston-Zora Folley (short but pretty good) along with a number of Floyd Patterson fights, e.g., vs. Rademacher, vs. Johannson (all three), vs. Roy Harris, etc.
But the Patterson-Jimmy Slade fights should be kept out of sight (in the very remote chance that copies still exist). They will bring to naught whatever one may have achieved with the other fights. In the first meeting, Slades purse was held back by the NY Commission (the fight was at the MSG) based on his performance-- he kept on running away (although Patterson KD'd him twice in the first round, and once in the 2nd, 3rd and the 8th-- and final--- round. "You can run but you cannot hide."). The second fight showed the commission's action didn't teach him the lesson that was intended. He learned another. He did a better job of running from Patterson. The latter never caught up with him the whole night.
That gets one thinking: why did they have to fight again?
Anyway...Hagler-Hearns should be there too as should Marciano-Moore, wouldn't you say?
On the technical list, why not add Leonard-Benitez?
Just my few suggestions.Last edited by grayfist; 05-20-2008, 10:15 PM.
