I think it's a mixture of both Shane being old, and Cotto making him look old.

Mosley looked fantastic in training the past few months. A lot of reporters claimed to have changed their pick leading up to the fight after seeing Shane's confidence and how well he was training. Not to mention he looked great against Collazo.

You can be old agaisnt Collazo and get away with it. Cotto is a different story.

Can you objectively say you felt that was the same Mosley though?

Just an observation but Mosley's stamina was suspect his hand speed was'nt as quick as it used to be & his reactions were slow Cotto was hitting him with jabs all night ,i knew Cotto would get to Mosley eventually and he would tire as i pointed out a couple of days ago the body attacks finally took there toll on Mosley and he began to look his age
If Mosley is so old and faded, then what does that say about a young Miguel Cotto who couldn't finish the job? Personally, I think Mosley for the most part neutralized Cotto's body attack. Where was it? I saw Cotto get a few in there but the volume of body shots delivered was no where near where it usually is with all his other opponents. He's usually relentless and the fact that Mosley forced Cotto to box more than **** speaks volumes to me about where both fighters are in their careers. Kudos to both fighters though. I must say I was impressed with Cotto's boxing ability and his surprising speed. Nonetheless, I had the fight a draw. Mosley really picked it up towards the later rounds but I kinda of expected politics to govern that decision.

Yeah man definitely. Collazo was landing punches on Mosley, but he didn't have the power to keep Shane honest, and he didn't throw a lot. So Mosley just outworked him all night by landing those right hands against the southpaw stance.

mosley is still probably one of the better guys in the division, and cotto just took home a huge win. i think cotto is as ready for anyone as he ever will be. big fights for him now is what i say.

OK, because Shane looked awful to me at times. His timing was off and he seemed very foggy mentally. Cotto seemed to wake him up with some of those hard shots as opposed to shut him down. I definately agree that both guys kept each other honest with power, but Mosley came in looking like he had been punched by Cotto in the dressing room for a few rounds. Shane was in slow motion at different points. I couldn't say he was just old, because he got himself going here and there - but something was off.

Cotto on the other hand was very sharp and impressive.

I can't disagree that Mosely looked off. But, he was definitely respecting Cotto's power after those early skirmishes. The lump on his jaw at the end of the fight indicates that Mosely might have suffered a broken jaw. Either way his jaw was severely swollen so it appears to me that Mosely wasn't himself because of Cotto's power. IMO

Watch the first round again. Mosley looked shaky before anything was landing.
