The cheapest seats were 40 pounds sterling, which equates to $83.28 on today's exchange rate. The ringside seats had a face value of 500 pounds or just over a grand. 50,000 seats filled is good number for boxing, don't be a ****.

What credit does Mayweather want? He is universally regarded as the best boxer on the planet, he is an exceptionally wealthy man and he is beginning to get recognition outwith his specialist field. Short of sainthood I don't see how much more credit he can get?

That's what I am talking about. The guy does not just do enough to barely win and then runs around talking that he is Jesus. Calzaghe was there to fight.
you mean he was there to slap kessler was pedestrian didn't have five star tools but great heart just a sloppy fighter for cal-slappy to look good

Again, only small-time fighters (and small-minded businessmen) focus on "gate".

            PPV > gate.

            Correction:

            PPV >>> Gate.

Nah you need two miracles to be a saint. Maybe if he loses to Hatton that will count as one...

This thread is now worth less than a peice of dog excrement.

People are saying things in this thread which show they have no respect for boxers or the sport of boxing and are probably here to just ruffle a few feathers and maybe get their post count up cos theyre freaky like that.

                    One last thing though...........

Does not having BIGGER FIGHTS mean you didnt fight strong opponents? Or that you didnt fight FAMOUS opponents?

There are millions of good singers out there for instance. Just because they dont sing at every big event or dont go to where all the other singers go to get famous doesnt make them any less gifted a singer as any other top rated singer. The only difference is their stance in the eyes of the public, not their actual ability.

and once again the most money was made in the USA not in europe. calzaghe kessler gate did not match 19 million for the floyd/hoya fight
