Savon is the greatest amateur of all time. If only he had gone pro, he most likely would have dominated the division for a loong time.

Understand that while Savon was excellent, he at times was a man facing boys.....same with Teo Stevenson.
You really can't gauge how he'd have done as a pro, against seasoned & physically matured fighters.

My choice is Mark Breland, as the best amateur of all time. He was incredibly dominant, & was a KO artist.....this without some of the advantages the MEN like Savon, Stevenson, & Abdullaev had.

He still weighed 147lbs, didn't he ? Being that skinny isn't always an advantage....

Savon & Stevenson were MEN facing boys, as I said.
Abdullaev, defeated Cotto in the Olympics, partly because he was able to manhandle the kid. When they fought as pros, Cotto was the stronger fighter.

Because I don't think they allow people from Cuba to turn pro. Most that go pro are the ones that were born in Cuba but fight outside of Cuba.

but why they are not as successful as in their amateur days that's my question..do u think because they trained differently because they are not in cuba??
