Among the less known Jr. Lightweight champions, I found Rolando Navarrete's three title fights exciting.
1. Against Boza Edwards, he beat the odds to win the WBC belt.
2. In his first defense, he fell against Chung Il Choi, had to scamper to the ropes to help himself up and was still visibly wobbly when the bell rung to save him. He took Chung out in the 11th round.
3. Against Bazooka Limon, he was winning when Limon dropped him in the 12th of a scheduled 15-round bout and was declared unfit to continue.
Later, after Chacon took the title from Limon, there was talk of a Chacon-Navarrete encounter. That would have been something. But, Navarrete's personal life got in the way. He found himself in jail in Hawaii on charges of **** (or, was that attempted ****?)
Of the choices above, I pick Chacon, mainly because of his memorable trilogy with Limon and a number of other fights.
Hmm...may be that's a way of saying that I am picking Limon too. After all, it sure took both of them to make that trilogy what it was.

If he's holding a job now, good for him!
I too am old enough to have caught Navarrete during his prime.
