    Marquez Didn't Impress Pacquiao

“Marquez wasn’t impressive. If Marquez fought like that [against Salido], he’s gonna go down again against me,” said Pacquiao, who knocked Marquez down three times in the first round but failed to finish off his Mexican opponent.

“I hope Juan Manuel doesn’t have any excuses this time and agrees to fight me so we could settle our score, once and for all,” Pacquiao said.

    -------

I haven't watched the fight yet but I heard it was boring and people booed Marquez who was only counterpunching and Salido who was afraid to mix it up.

Anyway Manny is right, this time Marquez doesn't have any excuse anymore if he doesn't fight Manny.

well yeah but i dont think JMM was gonna take any risk in tis fight...he will come feb in the rematch..cuz why would JMM risk getting ko'ed against a nobody..instead if he gets ko'ed vs pac..it will be for a big pay day...JMM didnt wanna screw that up..come feb. or jan. whenever the fight is..dont worry will see a better JMM...look at hopkins preformance vs allen the third fight before the dlh fight...JMM will be in better shape and will box better with manny...he even went to war with salido a couple of time

second..when have u ever herd a fighter say to the man he will face..."yeah he really impressed me.."..come on pac is just maintaing that confidence which is what he will have to do..any word on pac fighting before that JMM rematch???????

Yeah, Pac said he was impressed by Barrera's TKO win over Ayala.
BTW: I heard that Pac's camp has something concrete and is expected to announce it next Monday. I guess that would be for the rubbermatch fight in November.

Well said i agree completely, it would have been very unfortunate to take a risk and lose to a nobody. Especially when his next fight against the Pacman is the fight of his career.

i actually enjoyed the fight. we are talking about salido not pac. salido brings a totally different fight to the ring than does the pac-man. and really i don't think he would, as said before want to take too many risks. i think more than anything he did like hopkins did. fooled everyone into thinking he doesn't have the fight in him anymore. i can't wait to see these two settle it once and for all. trust me, the jmm you'll see in the rematch will definately not be the one we saw saturday night.

what excuses are you or pac talkin about? jmm is doin exactly what he said he was gonna do. SALIDO was big and could also take a punch, jmm landed many good punches in the fight but I do think it was boring. however the same shots that salidotook, pac didnt took them well in the first fight agaisnt marquez. its obvious that pac has power on his left but i doubt he has a strong chin or heart. the reason that i say that its cause pacs never been hurt badly in a fight and THEN adapt to it. peace

Seriously guys, I have barely seen JMM take risks during ANY of his fights. Plus his counterpunching style does not allow him to take any risk. At least IMO, being a risky fighter is somewhat letting it hang out and ******** that your punch would hurt more than your opponent's so you'd give and take. That was never JMM, is not him today, and never will be. I don't see any other way HOW he could have fought that fight aside from his counterpunching style (which I am not a fan of but that don't matter).

And big pappy, I disagree. I think what we saw in Sat is EXACTLY what we would see in the rematch. What else would be different? He'd be faster, better trained? He said it himself that he would never ever underestimate ANYBODY that includes Salido. He said in the post-fight interview with Merchant that he was only thinking of this fight and not beyond. Even brushed off the Pacquiao questions. So if he trained hard for this fight and also mentally focused, he should have looked better than he did. But maybe that's as good as he was gonna get and that my friend, just wouldn't cut it in a rematch with the Destroyer. He woudl get owned...

LOL!! You've seen what 2-3 Pac fights and all of the sudden you make that analysis?

Pac doesn't have a strong chin?
Did either one of the top mex fetherweights bring him down? even get a knockdown? No. Not MAB. Not Marquez. Both guys have knocked out a decent amount of fighters and couldn't bring Pacman down once. Doesn't that says something about Manny's chin??

Pac doesn't have heart? He's never been hurt in a fight then adapt to the style? LOL this one was the funniest.
He was knocked down and badly shooken up against Nedal Hussein. He got up and won the fight convingcingly.
Agapito Sanchez ****ed him up with headbutts and lowblows, still fought without complaints.
Not to mention the COUNTLESS wars that he's been in vs these Thais and Koreans.
His HEART and spirit beat Barrera, don't forget that.

See you haven't seen none of his previous fights. If you had, you wouldn't have made those statements. He's had 42 Pro fights, not 2. Get that straight.
