Thats The Best I've Seen Roy Jones Jr. Look Since The John Ruiz Fight...

Roy handspeed is still there 90-95% of it...
His reflexes are about 75-80% still there
And he proved he could fight off the ropes and take alot of punishment...
He also showed he still had some power by knocking Hanshaw down.

I thought Roy was going to get KOed, I'm happy I was wrong. Great fight, great night for RJJ fans. Props to Hanshaw for trying real hard and showing alot of heart.

If that's what Roy has left, then he can stick around a bit longer and win some more fights! Good for him.

That was the most entertaining RJJ fight I've seen in years. He wasn't that dominate but that made for a very, very good fight. I can't remember the last time he went for the KO like he did in the 9th round when he hurt Hanshaw to the body.

But just as usual, after Knocking Down Hanshaw in the 11th and having the chance to KO him, he just let him off the hook. I would like to see RJJ for at least one more time in his career really try to KO and/or hurt somebody.

Anyway, very entertaining fight and cong**** to Roy. You really forget how fast he can be until you see him let 2 or 3 punches go. He hit Hanshaw with a left uppercut that I didn't even see- I just saw Hanshaw's head fly back. Those who didn't get the fight really missed out on a very good, hard fought contest.

After the Benn-McCellden incident, Roy doesn't really go for the KO anymore.

I was very impresed with Roy tonight . Especially considering he was going up against a young hungry fighter who was undefeated and put a lot of pressure on him from round 1. I think the key is Roy cant lay off for long stretches now. Keep the skills sharp and come back with another fight within 4 to 5 months.

I am not confident Roy will adopt a jab. But, it is very apparent to me that IF he did, he would some big problems to the top guys around his weight. His punch output is not enough for someone like Joe, Kessler, etc. unless he throws jabs...his jab is good but where is it?

But yes...pretty entertaining fight. But that's not what Roy needs. He can beat Tito sure...but, then?
