Floyd wont fight shane because shane already turned him down. Yet.....

he is persuing a fight with a JW Ricky Hatton who has turned down offers from Floyd TWICE...

there u have it folks.. Floyd is scared to face a legit threat at welter...his split D victory over and inactive Dela Hoya, showed him that he cant hang with Mosley who has TWO wins over a prime Dela..

his reasoning for not fighting Mosely is simply he already offered and Mosley said no..YET Hatton has said NO TWICE, HUH??.. and isnt even a welter
not only that, Mosley convincingly beat a guy that Hatton struggled with..

    go figure

    cherry picking at it's finest

It's pretty much been widely established that hatton and pbf is the fight people want to see.

I'm not so sure that Mosley objectively even won both of those fights with the prime DLH and I'm most definitely sure that Mayweather won a boring but decisive UD over an over the hill DLH. Not much of a comparison. Furthermore if you are so convinced that Mosley is still in his prime making this a worthy fight then you shouldn't be worried because if Mayweather fights in November he'll probably fight again in May. So if Mosley is still good enough to beat him right now the next 10 months shouldn't do much to change that. If Mosley takes the title from Cintron/Mathysse winner and Cotto/Margarito fight then Mayweather will only have two choices for his next fight...Mosley or Cotto/Margarito. And considering that Mayweather is all about $ he will know to take on the older man first before he retires then take on a younger guy like Cotto/Margarito who can only look to get more popular. BTW how is it cherry picking when you are fighting a young undefeated fighter instead of an older skilled but over the hill fighter (be real Mosley hasn't looked elite since his back to back losses to Winky).

Yeah, so some people tell me. But I want to see him against Shane...

Deevel79; It is kind of sad that Floyd fights Hatton before Sugar. Maybe he want to get to Hatton before someone else does, or maybe he's hoping Shane will get old and slow in the meantime.

Look, Foyd is a **** talker and deserves half the criticism he gets. But if you think Mosley beat Oscar the 2nd time around you are kidding yourself. Shane may be more of a threat than Oscar but he's past his prime himself. Beating up on a half-shot Vargas doesn't make you special at this point.

did u just read the post right above u? re-read it. 28 year old undefeated ricky hatton or 34-5 year old 4 times defeated shane mosley? i have an idea, maybe floyd should fight hatton, cotto, shane, and margarito in the same night, 3 rounds a pop for each guy. that wont be enough will it, cuz he is ducking them by only fightin them for 3 rounds each right, how bout he fihts them for 12 rounds a pop each guy, nope. cuz he should've added clottey to the mix, and then he would be the king, right? NAH. not unless de la hoya got another 12 rounds at him after the other 5 guys, then would he be ok wit u guys? probly not, cuz he ducked bernard hopkins and winky wright... i can understand if someone has a legitimate reason y they think floyd is running from guys, but they will pick any guy he hasnt fought and say floyd is running, what is the point?

and also, floyd is the best fighter on the planet right now, cuz if he wasnt, 90 percent of the threads wouldnt be about him, would they? how many margarito or shane or cotto or hatton threads are there compared to floyd? haters love to hate......... and when they're mouths are shut, they find something new to hate on... keep it comin boys its good fun!

The greatest fighters don't retire at 29. Floyd still has other good-great fighters around him that need to be answered. And yes, it will be enough if he fights them...Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, etc.

i didnt say tougher. did i? i'm sayin to those with little knowledge of boxing, they would rather see hatton vs. floyd, then shane vs. floyd. not to mention with all hattons fans that came to vegas for the castillo fight, clearly will be more PPV buys and money to be made, rather than fightin mosley after he comes back from the dentist office.

for the record, neither hatton or mosley are tough fights for floyd. toughest possible fight for floyd at this juncture would be cotto at 147. do i wanna see that fight? I WOULD LOVE IT. hatton aint on mayweathers level, period. mosley would be trouble for floyd for 4-5 rounds tops, then floyd takes over...
