Re-watched and Re-scored Groves vs. Degale last night...

Would be interesting to hear some scorecards. Something I've noticed about this fight is that the vast vast majority have this a close fight or a draw but also very few have Groves winning. At least from what I've seen here and in the one other forum i post in. Obviously there were loads of swing rounds, and Im definitely not claiming a robbery, but i thought Degale did enough to get the win. Heres my scorecard. I normally mark which rounds i thought were close or clear wins but forgot to this time

    jd vs gg
    10-9 ---- 10-9
    10-10 ---- 20-19
    9-10 ---- 29-29
    10-9 ---- 39-38
    9-10 ---- 48-48
    10-9 ---- 58-57
    10-9 ---- 68-66
    10-9 ---- 78-75
    10-9 ---- 88-84
    9-10 ---- 97-94
    9-10 ---- 106-104
    10-9 ---- 116-113

When I first watched the fight I thought it was Degale being inactive and Groves outworked him, but now I've rewatched i have both guys being inactive but in quite a few rounds Degale was the one landing the cleaner harder shots.

Last time I watched I believe I had it 117-113 but for Groves, need to double check I wrote down my round scoring.

round 11 - JD 9-10 (George Groves rd)
round 12- JD 9-10 (George Groves rd)

      Result
      George Groves - 117 - 113 - James DeGale

From what I was watching I didn't think DeGale was landing as often as you may of thought he was, he did make James miss alot.

I thought both made the other miss a fair bit, which was frustrating considering neither was throwing anything!

Most of the rounds we disagree on i think were swing rounds if i remember rightly. I just thought Degale was the one looking to land shots that hurt, whereas Groves seemed to be just looking to touch Degale.

The punch stats just slightly edged in favour for Groves
          DeGale 72/378; Groves 86/399

Really does go to show both were fighting quite defensively albeit it looked like DeGale was the aggressor but he maintained that defensive posture, I dunno I think you can make arguments for both fighters winning some of the certain rounds.

No argument on this fight being James DeGales and George Groves most competitive fight in their entire resume, up until this point nobody has came close to delivering a more competitive fight hence why I think DeGale could take Bika and some of the other people who people rule James out against.

James and Groves are both great fighters though.

Whoa, thats by quite some margin, I remember having it a draw. DeGale was inactive and Groves capitalised. Haven't watched it again because I just didn't like the fight that much.

I hope both young men win titles so there can be a unification bout in the future.

Seen it a few times, every time I have DeGale edging it.

I can't remember my exact scorecard, but I had Groves by a round. It was a very 'cat and mouse' fight. One of those where I wouldn't be surprised if it went either way. The outcome is debated so that pretty much says it was a close fight.

If DeGale can get himself in amongst the big fights, I would like to see the rematch at some point. As it stands, I think DeGale is treading water and Groves has pushed on to a higher level.

DeGale by two.I watched it as recently as this November,it was clearly at least DeGale by one round, though I had him by two.

Wanna clarify I am neither a fan or either, not some biased Froch fan either,I can't stand that arrogant deluded dude.havent really got any time for the three of them.

Don't exactly remember what I had scored it, but I remember thinking Groves had just done enough at first.

Upon second watching, it could go either way or be a draw.
