Still a fun fight to watch. And an important night in british boxing history

I remember the lead up to this one was pretty quiet, coming a few weeks after Hatton vs Malinaggi, and being tucked away late at night on ITV. There was a sense of it being a 50/50 fight, but I remember most seeming to think Froch had left it a little too late, was perhaps a bit too long in the tooth to make it to world level (seems crazy now)

Both guys went on to have a lot better careers than most predicted, Froch we obviously all know about, Pascal went on to win the WBC light heavyweight title as a big underdog against Chad Dawson, and make 4 defences before he ran into stylistic trouble against the legendary B-Hop. Pascal faces Lucian Bute in three weeks time in a canadian superfight, with the winner set to make another solid crack at the world champions.

It;'s funny to think how long ago this was now, Khan had only just been KTFO by Prescott at this stage, and Hatton hadn't fought Pac yet, Haye had just had his "coming out" heavyweight fight against Monte Barett

Agreed with all yall!! What a fight and one of the best wins Froch has, people seem to forget how good Pascal is. Yes he lost to Bhop but this is the same old dog he made Tarver, Pavlik and Cloud look like children, aint no shame in that.

Personally, I think there should be a rematch, possibly at 175? Froch being 2 weight world champion?

One of my favourite fights and when you look at the quality and sheer instensity of it you begin to appreciate why both guys went on to have so much success. It is a shame Carl's career is winding-down and that Jean does not have a LHW world title any more....because that rematch would be pretty much the perfect sign-off fight for me.

This fight made me pick Froch over Taylor. I watched that fight in a house that nobody knew who Froch was and they all thought Froch was another euro bum. I surprised everybody that night with my pick. One of the greatest boxing nights for me in my entire life.
