I guess this rules out the greatly desired rematch with Audley Harrison?

Agreed, I thought Mr Haye was going to retire or has there been any news on him making a recovery with a plan to hit back into the gym to try and buy himself a title shot?
I think its fair to say he would buy himself the title shot because other than Wladimir who brings that amount of attention to the division and the ppv status... nobody.

Wladimir doesn't bring attention or PPV status to the heavyweight division?

Anyways, the guy won't be back to fight for the vacant title, that's for sure. Maybe a year or two down the line he'll come back to fight a weak champion once the Ks have completely gone. Don't see it any other way.

                  The man is a crook.

I was going to organize time off work and book a hotel for the Haye/Fury fight in September. Then I realized, hang on a minute, its David Haye.

Carl Froch can take some credit for bringing back credibility to our Box Office model (a requirement for big fights in the UK). The Harrison and Klitschko non-fights was a serious detriment to Boxing in this country. And so high profile too.

We're trying to build up boxing in this country, and we don't need people like David Haye with his smoke and mirrors.

But I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a ring again because like all of us, he likes a pound note.

Haye would have to face a lot of backlash for popping up for the chance of a belt after the Fury scenario, I don't think even he would do that...He definitely won't be back if Wladimir gets hold of the WBC strap, Haye would do well not to bother at all in my opinion
