Derry Mathews Next Fight

I just saw on Boxrec that he's fighting an Irish lad named Stephen Ormond on December 7th for the WBO European Lightweight title.

I haven't seen Ormond & the only name I recognise (other than journeymen) on his record is Paul Appleby who's an ok domestic fighter. And Appleby beat him.

I was hoping that a Mathews v Kevin Mitchell fight was going to be made for December.

Anyone have any info on this?

The Mitchell offer wasn't great for Derry Apparently.
Derry also states in this press conference filmed and edited by myself that he believes Appleby lost the fight to Ormond and that Ormond should still be undefeated despite being friends with Appleby

Mathews vs Murray is a mouth watering clash but I'd have to see Murray in a half decent match up first.

Murray hasn't won a fight in 30 months & I didn't think he looked very good in that bout.

We also have to see if he actually comes back at Lightweight. But either way I don't think he'll be ready for a proper fight til next summer at the earliest.
