    I Still Love Chris Eubank.

It's been 25 years since I first heard about Chris Eubank - the eccentric English kid who was fighting in Atlantic City.

Then he came home to England & - you may not remember this - but on many, many occasions he predicted the round in which he would win. And I bet on this (plus one either side) and made a few quid. I must have seen a dozen of his fights live and another dozen of Benn's.

I was watching his son fight the other day & when I heard his voice I perked up like Pavlov's Dog.

He is the the one that got away

Eubank was special. I think he changed the face of the game with his independant attitude - the Eubank/SKY business deal was impersonated by Maske/Michalczewski in Germany and Jones/Hamed on HBO, and now we have the Mayweather's of this world making $100,000,000 a fight. That may not have been possible without Eubank.

Eubank was amazing, that era was amazing and was what really got me into boxing.

Big fan of Chris, not too sold on his son.

Jnr is never going to live up to his dads status, Eubank to a point nearly had it all.

I think the aftermath of the Watson rematch changed him. Prior to meeting Watson he was 27(17)-0, after Watson he was 18(6)-5. And 4 of those kayos were in his last 4 wins against also rans.

I know he met a better quality of opposition after that but if you were around then you would have noticed what I'm talking about. He didn't throw as many punches with "bad intentions" to use a phrase coined by another lisping ex Champ.

Yer he definetley lost his killer instinct after the Watson fight, Its weird how the public accepted him and cheered him once he'd lost and was starting to decline.

With all the nervous, gunshy, no charisma boxers and sportsmen England had produced over the year you would think the public would marvel at a swaggering, arrogant showman like Eubank.

Taansend tell me what you think you think of Jnr?

Yep, couldnt agree more, he definately lost the killer instinct it was actually strange to watch and see the damage that did. Must be a terrible thing to deal with even though you know it was fully unintentional.

Fortunately these things are farely rare!

I don't have the patience to go looking in here for Juy. But if he's out there he knows I'd still have him.
