Tyson Fury moves up to #9 BoxRec at heavyweight

Following the win over Dereck Chisora, the BoxRec computer moves Tyson Fury up to #9 at heavyweight:

After the dominant decision win over Chisora, surely he'll now be ranked by a sanctioning organization.

Those ratings are completely dodgy! David Haye drops down to 7th, lower than Tony Thompson which I find baffling, all on the basis of a defeat to the number 1 ranked heavyweight. Povetkin and Chagaev should be higher but they have been the victims of inactivity.

I watched the first 8 rounds of Chisora vs Fury but had to go out so did'nt catch the end. Fury looked ok ish but his punching techique was awful at times and he is an arm puncher which is why he doesnt have much power.

Chisora looked like he hadnt even bothered to train its the worst i have ever seen him.

Maybe Fury could turn out to be good he is still young but seriously 20 years ago this guy would be no where near the top ten at this stage of his career. He needs to fight and beat Rogan, Price and then another solid guy before even being considered top 10.

I have to give credit to Fury, I didn't think he could out hustle Chisora at the inside game, but he could and did! Chisora looked fat as a pig at the weigh in so I didn't have a bet on him like I would have, but even still, credit to Fury who took some solid shots, cleared his head and came right back at Delboy.

He still has a long way to go before he is challenging for a world title, but he's progressing really nicely. If he can swap a few pounds of lard for lean muscle over the next year and tidy up all his bad eating habits he will benefit from it big time

I like Fury but I think he is taking too many tough fights too early. At 23 he literally has his whole life ahead of him.

Fight some easy journeymen and build your Ko ratio up.

            I'm perfectly fine with that.

            1. Wlad
            2. Vitali
            3. Haye
            4. Adamek
            5. Povetkin
            6. Chambers
            7. Helenius
            8. Arreola
            9. Dimitrenko
            10. Fury

Chagaev is unworthy of contender status at his current state and Solis is out for a year so I disregard him.

I havent even liked Haye in years, since his messing around with Wlad and the Harrison fight i havent really liked him. I still like Chisora but the guy needs to get in shape he could have won that fight if he wasnt 30lb over weight.

Perez is a good prospect will be intresting to see where he goes as is Price, I like Seth Mitchell as well and Boystov.

Im not a big Fury fan but would be cool to see him fight Wlad in a few years time he just isnt ready to fight a top10 fighter in the next year imo.

Tough fights? When? Chisora and Fury had the same record and apart from that what "hard fight" had he had?

He's already lost to JM (or should have)so I say move him up quicker so we don't have to watch the next couple of years wasted fighting bums to pad a record only for him to get dropped 1st time he steps up.

His biggest problem will be fitness. He came in at his very lightest v Chisora (who came like a fat ****ing beast) and was still blowing out his ar*e half the fight. He's guff, don't be fooled.
