Let's see.
Audley Harrison vs. Dereck Chisora (British Heavyweight Title)
Well, Del Boy somehow managed to retire the true British legend that is Danny Williams, and chased Wladimir Klitschko off howling into the foothills. So why not give him the task of putting Audley out of his misery once and for all while keeping busy. Would do wonders for his popularity seeing him bash Audley up. Also would give Audley a chance to redeem himself in the British boxing public's eyes. If Audley won a fight like that, surely he wouldn't be far off another crack, haha.
George Groves vs. James DeGale (British Super Middleweight Title)
This fight is going to be a great spectacle. Very exciting fight. Would be easy though for either camp to screw up the negotiations if they don't truely want it. I am still waiting for one of them to start harping on about how this could be a fight for a world title in a year or two down the line. Anyway, in my opinion DeGale is genuine world class quality and Groves isn't.
Darren Barker vs. Martin Murray (British, Commonwealth and European Middleweight Titles)
Forget Barker-Macklin, this is the real fight at Middleweight. Personally I don't see either of these as genuine top level operators. It annoys me the way fighters get built up like this without actually fighting anyone dangerous. Anyway. The fact these 2 are ranked decent, this could surely be turned into a final eliminator of sorts. This weight class though has some particularly weak champions. Make it happen someone (I can't remember who's fighters these 2 are).
Kell Brook vs. Matthew Hatton (European Welterweight Title)
Why not? Could be an interesting fight. Kell may aswell pick up the European bauble on his way up, and Hatton deserves the chance to cause the upset and make people sit up and take notice. If Kell could put on a real show in this fight then pretty much the next step is world class, no more hanging around. Same goes for Hatton really. Maybe the winner of this fight gets a final eliminator.
Junior Witter vs. Ricky Hatton
Man I actually felt bad writing that, haha. I would only want to see this fight if Ricky puts on a decent performance and comes away with the victory and then immediately retires to a Rocky Balboa like reception. Meaningless fight but I'm sure you guys would agree with the sentimental value of it.
Frankie Gavin vs. Paul McCloskey (British Light Welterweight Title)
Why not? We just seen a similar type of fight pay dividends for Warren and DeGale. Gavin is a genuine quality prospect and I see no point in hanging around with him. McCloskey on the other hand is matched very intelligently in my opinion and is never going to be world class. The thought of these types of fights for the new wave of British prospects next year makes my mouth water.
John Murray vs. Kevin Mitchell (British and European Lightweight Titles)
Personally I don't rate Murray. I think he is a very limited fighter and would get exposed much the same as Mitchell did at world level. Atleast a fight like this would show us if he's even worth getting interested in when he finally reaches a title shot. It bothers me that Murray is dodging the real challenges, as we saw with the Gavin Rees fight. He needs to take a serious challenge sooner or later. I'm sure Mitchell would appreciate the opportunity to get right back into the mix at this level.
John Simpson vs. Ricky Burns (WBO Super Featherweight Title)
Wow that would be an interesting fight. Simpson would have to step up a weight class, and Burns may well be too big for him. Simpson can make this fight a nightmare for Burns, I think he has the perfect style. On the flipside though, imagine a Simpson win. Would he not be the weakest world champion of all time? lol. His vulnerability against slick boxers from across the pond would be a horrific thing to behold. Suppose these 2 could just turn it into the Scotch Barrera-Morales if Simpson won.
That is all I can think of at the moment. Anyone?
