I think you should have 20 fights before you get a shot like that but thats just me. Barker has been quietly paying his dues for some time now and deserves an opportunity.

It would be great to see this for a world title and I have watched both these guys careers closely it would be a great clash of styles as well. I would have a lot of respect to them and their promoters if they got this fight on (poss. For the European title and a decent rating/eliminator for a world title). Moore and Rhodes faced off which was a great fight, I would love to see this happen but I doubt it will for a while. I think Macklin would win by late ko but I think it would be very close.

I think This would be a cracking fight but i'm afraid it may only ever happen if they both reach world title level. Which from watching both does look possible but could easily not happen with the way this sport goes.
from watching i'd favour Barker by decision because he looks a class act already and i think he is still improving.

Just get a feeling he is going to get man-handled at some point.

Macklin looks the more solid and powerful and better hasa better left-hook, Barker with the better straight right, and their jabs more or less on a par. Physical strength goes to Macklin and I think that would be crucial down the stretch.

Barker is not in the same class as Macklin, if he fought Macklin now he would get knocked sparko, he should get some more experience before thinking about Macklin, to be honest I've never rated Barker,
