    rogan ***ton rematch in september

    From BBC sport:

Martin Rogan looks set for a re-match with Commonwealth heavyweight champion Sam ***ton in Belfast in September.

***ton clinched the Commonwealth belt by beating Rogan last month after a doctor ruled that the Belfast man was unfit to continue in the eighth round.

Rogan had ***ton in trouble on several occasions prior to the stoppage.

The Belfast fighter's trainer John Breen says contracts have been drawn up for a fight and that a bout is on the cards for the Odyssey Arena.

BBC Sport understands that mooted dates are Friday 11 September and Saturday 19 September.

In the May bout, Rogan, 38, had the 25-year-old ***ton out on his feet in round eight but hesitated to go in for the kill.

***ton had a further opportunity to recover when he lost his gumshield and as soon as the fight restarted the doctor ruled that Rogan, whose left eye had almost completely closed, was unfit to continue.

After suffering his first defeat in 13 professional fights, Rogan was highly critical of referee Dave Parris' performance.

Rogan won the Commonwealth belt with a thrilling 11th-round stoppage of Matt Skelton in February.

I can't complain about the ref, Rogan should have put him to sleep, he was told it was his last round and he ****ed about when he could have finished him.
Next time i cant see him making the same mistake, or trying to outbox him like last time. cant see ***ton lasting 5 rounds if Rogie goes for the kill from the off, every time he came at ***ton, ***ton shat himself and couldn't handle it. don't know what rogie was playing at try to outbox him ffs. he doesnt even have a jab!
Good luck lad, maybe get a fight with tyson fury after, that would be a good scrap. Fury said he boxed the ears of him in sparring a couple of years ago. he talks alot of ****e though.

Can't wait for this. It was a war last time, so maybe Rogie will end it quicker knowing what he has to do. He's a cool bloke.

Then again, even ***ton wasn't too bad.

Glad this rematch is happening. Rogan deserves one, ***ton isn't a bad fighter either. Strange having exciting heavyweight fights again.

hope rogan goes for the kill this time and finishes it, his trainer must have been well pissed but hes not going hesitate second time round, if he sees red he will charge!

can't say I'm unhappy about this rematch. Two things settled the first fight, Rogan not going in for the kill when had the chance(he thought the ref was about step in to stop it), and a clash of heads (if memory serves me right) causing bad swelling above his eye forcing the doctor to stop the fight.

Thought with Chisora losing out on a British title against Williams that ***ton may have got the chance.

Rogan has had some tough fights already this year, if he is fully fit mentally and physically he will pull it off.

I cant see anything else happening after the first fight, he'll go after him like a crazy man. His trainer is notorious for being very tough on his fighters (amateurs are warned in N.Ireland not to go near him cos he's ruthless, but as he says himself, he prepares men for battle) so I've no doubt what the intructions will be.
He trains McCloskey as well, good trainer, known as the Belfast Mexican (more to do with the year round sun tan than anything else, but his fighters typically do have that Mexican approach of concentrating a lot more on hitting than not being hit)
