Hatton likely to retire if he loses next fight

Ricky Hatton says he will probably retire if he loses his fight with Paul Malignaggi on 22 November but says new trainer, Floyd Mayweather Sr, has put him in his best shape for two years.

Looking forward to it , I found a link on britishboxing.net saying that Malignaggi's promoter is looking forward to a pint with Hatton after Hatton looses . He said Malignaggi is like a working mans version of Mayweather Jnr

Malignaggi seems to be down to earth, and he gave cotto a good fight. His hands are fast but too brittle and he lacks power. I think Fatty will overwhelm him in a close fight. Floyd Sr will probably unintentionally give an overdose on the doctrine of boxing. the only way he will lose is if he suffers from paralyis by analysis. You can't teach an old bum new tricks. Let him be, the bar brawling bum.

A good boxer will always beat a good brawler, but is Paulie with his soft hands a good boxer?

It's a hard one to pick for me . We might see improvement from Hatton because of Floyd Mayweather Snr .You never know he might be **** hot on the night .I watched that Malignaggi Cotto fight and Malignaggi was unlucky not to win ,it was a close fight .I like Hatton but so hope he wins

Yes, i thought it was a close fight too like th Collazo-Fatty one but with Cotto edging it with his power and strength.

Surgeon, i think his homecoming was meant to be already done as his farewell to Manchester. His next fight is already pencilled in at wembley V DLH or Pacman. He said something soemwhere abotu wanting to break the record he set at City of Manch. wembley would be that place and has been mentioned many times. And yes like you say it would be insane to turn down that kinda money. Everyone is at least that money hungry!!!!

I thought it was a fair and solid win for Cotto, Mallinagi was good but Cotto was a bit better, no contriversy i thought.

Hatton could be better under Floyd but im not sold on the idea, i dont rate Floyd too high, certainly not as high as he does!

Hatton will break his record im sure, but even if he loses he will want to go out on a win and milk some more cash from us britts - cant blame em i suppose.

I saw the fight the same way. It was a solid win for Cotto but it also showed that you can't underestimate Paulie who had previopusly been written off! one writer even called him hector Camacho without any talent. Very very harsh. I think Ricky wins it, but not too comfortably.

Gotta remember Cotto was drained as **** but yeah Paullie proved he's for real in that fight, good chin, big heart and balls too.
Fast as u like but not much power which is important for Ricky right now, his punch resistance looks like its dipped a bit imo.

Mallinagi is good but N'dou pressured him into a close fight Hattons pressure is just Ridiculas and at 140 he is an Ox, Hatton pounds him over and over for a UD or a late corner retirement, but he gets snipped by some sharp shots on the way in i think
