Ring ****zine ranks Rees at No 4!

After suprising everyone and beating a very poor mbaye, Ring has put Rees at number 4 in its rankings, ahead of people like demetrius hopkins and just one place below malignaggi...

i would have taken SOULEYMANE M’BAYE out of the top 10 cos he was so bad, and put rees in at no10 maybe but i dont think he is even in the top 10 lww in the world.

I suppose that because he is one of the belt holders in the division that dictates heavily on the 'The Rings' rankings.

The likelihood is that he will lose his title during his first defence but he has actually won the title therefore luckily or not he must be ranked at least in the top ten!

i guess this isn't the case if you are a wbo champ. Torres is 31 - 1, and has already defended the WBO title once, but he's not even in the top ten! although his next opponent Kendall Holt is at number 10.

i expect it all comes down to mbaye's previous rating whether it was justified or not.

Usually you take the position of the foe you defeated. Just like Malignaggi took Ndou's ranking

You can't trust Ring, promoters buy their fighters rankings, but thankfully they don't Recognize the WBO so i suppose they are'nt that bad, but rees at 4, i think that will so change

Its a good point though, how the hell is Rees in at 4 yet Torres isn't in the top ten?

The WBO still has a stigma attached to it but it shouldn't as many of the best fighters in the World either hold or have held the belt!

I love the principle of the ring rankings, but in reality they often look a bit skewed. There is no way Rees can be no.4 given the opposition he has faced, title or no title. Torres losing effort against Cotto showed more than rees win IMO.

I don't prefer any of the belts, in fact if anything I prefer the belts whose presidents shut up, not like sulaiman and the IBF person.
