    21st July Predictions!

ok...we are officially closer to this weekends cardiff show than last weekends O2 card, so we can stop discussing khan for 5 minutes and look forward to a couple of potentially great fights..

    Alex Arthur Vs Koba

hopefully arthur will pull it off and win whatever vacant title is on offer (is it the full or interim now?), but koba's no bum and this fight should go the distance. this is probably AAA's last appearance on itv (unless he demeans himself by appearing on a khan undercard) so hopefully he'll put on a great performance and win in style.

    Maccarinelli Vs Braithwaite

finally macca is fighting someone who at least used to be world class. don't know how much he has left and i'm guessing warren thinks he's shot. anyway, i'm backing macca to rise to the occasion and get the stoppage win.

    Mbaye Vs Rees

i'm not even sure if they are showing this on itv....maybe they'll show the highlights if one of the other two fights ends early. anyway, controversial wba title defense here, and unfortunately for rees i don't think theres going to be a rockyesque storyline. the little fella is going to get knocked out and perhaps even hurt, and then everyone will boo mbaye for being a big nasty man picking on someone 6 inches shorter.

      Enzo KO Braithwaite R5
      Arthur KO Gogoladze R7
      M'baye 12 SD

Should be some good fights. Maccarinelli will boss braithwaite about and Arthur will have the skills to see of gogoladze as well

      ITV1 2200-2340
      Enzo Maccarinelli v Wayne Braithwaite

      ITV4 1945-2200
      Souleymane M'baye v Gavin Rees
      Alex Arthur v Koba Gogoladze

Anyone got the kevin mitchel fight btw from last satday as i missed it? or highlights of it?

I really hope Arthur wins, but I cant give a proper prediction due to never having seen gobo before. All I know is Arthur is going to give everything he has in this fight and its going to need a great performance from his opponent to deny him. My prediction is a an Arthur win by TKO in round 8.

I've stated in another thread that I would go with Enzo in his fight but he's in for a tough night and might have to get off the canvas to win. My prediction is enzo winning by KO in the 5th.

The last fight is a complete mismatch IMO and Rees is far too far out of his league and can only see him losing by nasty KO. My prediction is a M'Baye win by KO in the 3rd.

Damn! I got the Rees - M'baye fight completly wrong. Rees though has to be the worst champion in the world at the moment. M'baye just didn't turn up and he should be embarrassed at how he lost. Cong**** to Rees though because he gave all he had, but I can't see him holding the belt for much longer. Oh actually Warren will find some bums for him to fight I suppose.

its clear as daylight. rees is just part of the Warren masterplan to get khan a major belt in the next year. featherfisted, 5ft 3 inch, fat lww champion? team khan grinning at ringside?

btw i was completely wrong about that fight as well...mbaye was really **** and rees fought out of his skin. good performance.

Yeah I forgot about that, Now you've mentioned it though im convinced it will happen. M'baye was Warren's fighter as well, do you think there was a bit of foul play here? all so Kham will have an easy world title waiting for him.

although i don't think the fight was fixed (i know some do) because mbaye looked like he was trying to win in the last 2 rounds, there was certainly something dodgy about rees getting a numbe 11 ranking with the WBA in the first place.

                1. he had never fought at lww

                2. he's only ever fought two 12 rounders and the last was 6 years ago at featherweight.

                3. he's only been in with journeymen since those 12 rounders 6 years ago.

so how the **** he got a number 11 ranking with the WBA i don't quite comprehend. but anyway, whats done is done, and i think warren will try getting rees one or two easy defences and in the meantime try getting khan ranked more highly by the wba. then in around a years time khan will move up to lww to challenge for rees title.

Khan Vs Rees from the Reebok stadium, July 2008!
