As for mundine's comments, I was always under the impression that it was the the Australian administration (part of the empire, but with a lot of jurisdiction over policy in Oz) that was responsible for the killing of thousands, maybe even more, Aboriginals. As such it's hard to distinguish between what was done by "Brits" and what was done by "Australian Brits".

TBH, The aussies have got more to worry about in the attitudes of their white youth today. They rival the Saffers in having a hard to shake attitude of racial discrimination.
