I don't see where Ali dominated the first few rounds. 1, 4, and 5 were pretty close, and I gave the 3rd round to Frazier. Frazier basically takes over after the 5th. I gave him 8 of the next 10 rounds.

Also, Ali outlanding Frazier 2:1 or 3:1 is a myth. I remember someone doing a punchstat that said that Ali landed 592 punches, while Frazier landed 579.

            Well Ali still outlanded him.

              3, then 1, then 2.

2 was crap and a clinch fest.

100 of those 579 Frazier's punches were from 6th and 8th round when Ali laid on ropes and Frazier hit him with light punches to the body like they were on training. Those were counted also.

So were all of Ali's pitty pat punches.

Because it was a stinky clinch fest.

Personally I'll have to go with the first one, Ali had a bit of ring-rust from being gone for those three years, but I think they were in the best shape in the first fight and were much less eroded than in the latter two.
                      - -Agree save the ring rust.

Ali the inveterate gym rat during his layoff where he could hold court, spar locals for the thrill of their lives, and clown around to hearts content.

Had two warmups before Frazier I, the last being a 15 rder vs Bonavena.
