    The Marciano Vingo fight seems to be in color and yet its the early 50's so I'm a bit curious to know how that is....other then that cool thread.....i've seen alot of these fights but still good to see them again

        Colour film has been around for a very long time. It wasn't used very much until the 60's/70's because black and white was cheaper. But I think that fight was private footage not intended to be broadcast.

                marciano did not take it easy on joe louis. louis was a big powerful dangerous top ranked contender even at 37. marciano had to bring his best because louis was still dangerous. check out the fight, louis busts up marciano with his jab and lands some hard left hooks on marciano that would fell anyone but granite chin marciano.




                the vingo footage was a homeade video made, thats why its in color

                      It appeared to be a home movie rather than anything "official". Color film has been available for a long time.
