Did Tunney not ever actually win the LHW world title? I'd have him higher but it seems odd to rate him above title holders based on resume and historian ratings alone.

Not sure Norfolk really counts as a LHW or a MW, but, he took the measure of great men anywhere from MW to HW.

LHW is a great division. My only beef with the placements is the placements of Maxim and Mathews.

Maxim had a decent jab, little power, and not too much speed. He would not make the top ten in this division. Not even to 15 or 20 either.

Bob Foster should make the cut.

Which Matthews film do I need to see? His resume looks a little thin to me.

LHW is a great division. My only beef with the placements is the placements of Maxim and Mathews.

In defense of Maxim, I could be wrong but I believe he is the only man to ever stop Sugar Ray Robinson.

And for Matthews, He did start at like super feather and go all the way to HW. I don't think his losses are terrible, I'm pretty sure he went on a 55+ win streak and was unbeaten at LHW, Muphy and Layne may not be names we respect anymore but when he beat them they were rated highly. Which is why Harry sits top the ring ranking for quite a few years, but, mostly, I realized while making this list I'm in desperate need for a more detailed knowledge of LHW careers. I even forgot about Gibbons.

Maxim was behind on points and the heat of the night got to SR Robinson forcing a retirement. That's how he won. It was so hot the referee had to be replaced that night.

I just don't see many quality wins at LHW for Matthews.
