Ok, as some of you here know I have been working closely with the Jofre family and am releasing the officially authorized biography on his life and career in early 2021. I am also bringing his family out here to Los Angeles In March (if COVID permits) or July (if we have to wait for vaccine). This is not cheap. I have put $2000 down and will put a further $1000 down if need be of my own money. There will be four of them that I am buying flights for and covering the accommodation for a week . I will also have him doing exciting meetings and I will be hosting two events which his fans are welcome to attend if they are in the LA area. At the events we will watch his fights with Eder on a projector screen, drink beer and BBQ. This is for all fans who help with the funding. What am I asking and offering? Jofre fought here at the Olympic Auditorium twice in 1960 against Jose Medel in what he says was his hardest fight and also when he became Brazil’s first world champion by defeating Eloy Sanchez. He also fought once in San Francisco defeating Herman Marquez. Jofre is the greatest bantamweight in history and one of the greatest fighters ever pound for pound. He is also the oldest living member in the modern category of the International Boxing Hall of Fame at 84.
