Has D'Amato ever had a boxing career in his younger days? I doubt he was pro, but was he ever amateur or even fought in a ring?

No he had 5 brothers to learn from and was a street fighter, he started training fighters at the young age of of 22.

That's cool. There was some stuff in one of Tyson's biographies about Cus's childhood but only a paragraph on he was beat my his dad and stuff, nothing more.
