Sandy Saddler vs. Floyd Mayweather @ 130

    Who you got? Why?

I got Saddler by UD or possible late round TKO. At 130 he was a beast, one of the best punchers of all time. A scrappy, dirty fighter who would force Floyd to fight his fight.

Saddler by late KO in a 15 round fight!

He wouldn’t allow Floyd to “think” and just bring chaos but effective like Maidana did but much more!

Saddled is probably the only one I would favor to beat PBF at 130 but it would be the toughest fight of his career!

    Guaranteed!

Floyd punches harder than Willie Pep, and may knock Sandy wedge-cold.

        - -The poor dear blessed with girlie hands can't really pop a soap bubble.

In 6oz horse hairs he'd melt against any great LW.

I’m of the opinion that boxers, like athletes of every other sport,
have developed a lot since the 1950s.
I believe it would have been one of Floyd’s easier wins.

            - -Need to study up!

Rules changes for marketing purpose ain't improvement.

Ty Cobb still holds the all time Runs Produced record in spite of playing most of his career in the low scoring deadball era.

Babe was a HOF caliber pitcher during the first third of his career in that era, yet is the RP% King reigning over all.

Wilt set records that will never be broken and Archie still the all time KO record.

You're confusing rule changes, field, track, and pool improvements enhanced by PEDs with athletic improvement.

There has yet to be better overall athletes than Jim Thorpe, Babe, and Wilt.

Read it and weep thee for the modern gene editing era passing as greatness.

Correct. Sometimes even a blind sow finds an acorn.

I'm curious how you come to that conclusion.

Well, I compare it to every other sport and refuse to see boxing and its athletes as the only sport that haven’t made any progression. (I recall I’ve been in this discussion before, and people says boxing ain’t comparable. But I think it is.)

QueensburyRules mentions names such as Thorpe, Babe and Wilt. I follow hockey a lot and QR could also have mentioned its #1 Wayne Gretzky. But hockey has changed a lot since the 1980s, and today the 1980s version of Wayne hadn’t been allowed to dominate the way he once did. Though, he should still be ranked #1 amongst hockey players (some Soviet players are worthy arguing).

About Saddler vs Mayweather – if Saddler had been born in 1977, like Floyd, their encounter had been a different story.

                    - -Son, modern professional boxing started 400 yrs ago.

Other pro sports about 300 yrs later. Doubt they'll be around 300 yrs hence save for track which has yet to catch up to boxing.
