I'd pick Conn to beat Jones on skill. Most of the other guys will have to be favorites due to size. Ruiz is nothing special. He's not horrible, but there's a reason he doesn't surface in many discusions - even amongst fighters of his own era.

I loved that performance by Jones. But looking back on it, I'm seldom "inspired". Taking the Marie Kondo approach, it's not really an ATG performance. Sometimes I wonder if Ruiz didn't even take a pay-out.

Baer over Jones. Sharkey and Schmeling as slight favorites.

Carnera was out boxed by Loughran, but Jones is no Loughran. He was punched out, eventually, by a perfect Joe Louis. But Jones is no Joe Louis. Jones definitely would struggle w/ the extra 3 rounds, and the rough-housing. I wanna pick Jones, but I can't. I think Carnera is just too big.

Galento should be easy, but is much more dangerous and committed than Ruiz.

Braddock is a serious underdog, but I'm sure he makes Jones work for it.

      Carnera- RJJ decimates him
Schmeling- Max should be the favourite
Baer- Baer has the same reach as Wladimir Klitschko for god's sake (and a significantly longer 1 than Vitali), the size disparity will just be too much, Baer KO1.
      Sharkey- don't know enough
Braddock- The cinderella man by wide UD or mid-late stoppage, too big, too skilled
Galento- Galento should be the favorite.

I don’t understand why you think this is a troll.

Baer was a demolisher of men with at least one in ring fatality to his name arguably 2, and they were much bigger guys than RJJ. He has what 30 pounds on RJJ (about 60 pounds if you compare their natural weights), 3.5 inches of height and 7 inches of reach.

Braddock was a big guy, RJJ would be at a sizeable size disadvantage. Braddock was also incredibly technically skilled with a masterpiece of a jab and great speed, combined with great power and an iron chin. He is also the only man in history to fight evenly with a Prime Joe Louis. It would be a good small man against a good big man.

              RJJ - 6', 75'' reach

              Primo Carnera
              6′ 5½″
              Reach: 85″
A bum of a giant. A giant bum.

              Max Schmeling
              6′ 1″
              Reach: 76″
              Pure hype.

              Max Baer
              6′ 2½″
              Reach : 81″
              Meh.....

              Jack Sharkey
              6′
              Reach :76″
Who was his significant w against ?
''Old'' Young Stribling (241 fights in) ?
              Hype job Schmeling ?

              James J Braddock
              6′ 2½″
              Reach :75″
              More meh...

              Good Ol Two Tone
              5′ 9″
              Reach :72″
              Cmon, now

The Depression Era guys were beyond sloppy. Anyone with a pulse was being licensed and hailed. I can see RJJ boxing circles around these guys. Probably wouldn't hurt them but that's not the only way to win fights. He would have a much better HW career during this time.

Come now an 81 inch reach is hardly meh. And Galento’s stats are virtually identical to Tua’s.

Glass Roy wouldn't beat any of them. Maybe Braddock. Schmeling KO's him too. Everybody else did, Max might as well catch that train too.

Those Sloppy Joe's would think a guy like RJJ was from another planet. Looking at their resumes, it's a wonder they're considered legends.
